Passengers on the East Coast Main Line wanting to travel to London King’s Cross and other destinations via Peterborough over the weekend of 7th and 8th January are being asked to plan ahead.
This weekend will see both engineering work and industrial action disrupt travel.
RMT and ASLEF strike action will affect journeys from the 3rd January until the 7th January, with the message to passengers being only travel if absolutely necessary.
On Saturday and Sunday (7th and 8th January), pre-planned engineering work as part of the East Coast Digital Programme will take place, with no trains running between St Neots and London.
A reduced LNER service will be in place, with trains either terminating / starting at St Neots or Peterborough.
Rail replacement buses will take passengers from St Neots to Bedford, where Thameslink services will run to London St Pancras.
Hull Trains will operate via the Midland Mainline into London St Pancras.
Lumo will only operate between Edinburgh and Newcastle only.
Passengers are advised to plan ahead and check before they travel at their operator’s website or at www.nationalrail.co.uk
