West Midlands Railway (WMR) is reminding passengers that because of industrial action there will be disruption to its services from Christmas Eve and into the New Year.
On Christmas Eve, Saturday, 24th December, due to industrial action by the RMT union, services will finish at 4pm.
On Christmas Day and Boxing Day, there will be no West Midlands Railway train services.
On Wednesday, 28th December and Thursday, 29th December, as a result of strike action by members of the TSSA union, there will be no services on any West Midlands Railway route.
Up to and including Saturday, 7th January 2023, ongoing industrial action by the RMT union is expected to affect services by all train operators. During this period, passengers should only attempt to travel if absolutely necessary.
Full details of how the industrial action is affecting West Midlands Railway services can be found online at www.wmr.uk/industrialaction
Jonny Wiseman, WMR customer experience director, said: “It is disappointing that our passengers’ journeys are continuing to be affected by industrial action over the Christmas period.
“Due to the impact of industrial action, no WMR services at all will run on the Wednesday and Thursday after Christmas and passengers should not attempt to travel with us on these dates.
“A reduced service is in operation on some routes across the Christmas period due to ongoing industrial action and passengers travelling in this period should check before setting out.
“Anyone whose train is cancelled as a result of industrial action can claim a full refund from their point of purchase or travel on an alternative date.”
