Merseyrail will provide a limited rail service for passengers as RMT union members of Network Rail take industrial action on Tuesday the 3rd, Wednesday the 4th, Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of January.

The UK-wide walk-out will impact the Liverpool City Region as Network Rail signalling and maintenance staff take strike action beginning:

“We would remind those who are travelling on between Tuesday 3 January and 7 January to plan their journeys in advance, that trains are likely to be very busy and bear in mind that Merseyrail services will not be operating any later than 18:30 on the affected days. Please be patient with us, we will get you where you need to be.”

  1. It is time these strikes were settled. What is the point in having a rail system, having to pay for it (and you do,as taxpayer even if you do not travel on the train). Many people will realise that they need to use it or aspire to using it ever again.
