Taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of November, this year’s Rail Wellbeing Live has seen a huge take-up from across the rail industry. The event featured musician Professor Green, TV star Gail Porter and hypnotist Paul McKenna amongst a large list of celebrity speakers and well-being experts.
Ending with a flourish, the event saw the winner of its Wellbeing Hero Awards revealed with two awards up for the taking, firstly an individual award and brand new for 2022, a team award. The awards were created to recognise railway colleagues who go the extra mile in the promotion of health and wellbeing.
This year’s individual award was won by Andy Healey from Siemens Mobility, his nominee said: “Andy is a true gentleman and goes above and beyond to put the health and wellbeing of his colleagues first.”. The winner of the team award was The Core Valley Lines Team at Amey. Their nominee said: “The team have implemented many well-being initiatives, which have positively impacted all colleagues across Amey, ensuring no one is left behind”.
The idea for Rail Wellbeing Live came from the Rail Wellbeing Alliance which is a multi-industry rail group made up of rail operating companies, suppliers and industry bodies. The event is free and takes place over two days online and is available to the entire rail industry with an aim of bringing the community together and connecting with high-profile speakers for ideas, tips and guidance on dealing with a number of health and well-being issues.
John Halsall, chair of the Rail Wellbeing Alliance and managing director for Network Rail’s Southern Region said “This year’s event has been a great success, with thousands of people joining us over the two days. I’m proud of how Rail Wellbeing Live has evolved into such a large industry event that encourages everyone to share and talk about issues relating to health and wellbeing. I’d like to thank everyone who supported the event and for being part of our mission to make the rail industry a healthier and happier place.
“It has been a brilliant couple of days that has uplifted the industry and you can still get involved as all the sessions are available to watch online until Thursday 17 November.
