Bachman Europe has revealed its last British Railway Announcements for 2022 with an array of new products for Bachmann’s British-outline railway ranges.
2022 has already seen over a dozen new tooling and product-upgraded projects created. This latest announcement sees a trio of new tooling projects alongside further product upgrades including new liveries for current models in the Bachmann Branchline and Graham Farish range.
OO and N scales have received a great deal of focus this year however, OO9 will be in the limelight for this Winter announcement with the Bachmann Narrow Gauge range and the launch of the Mainline Hunslet locomotives.
The range sees a trio of locomotives which depict those built for the Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales. The large-sized O-4-O saddle tanks demonstrate the ongoing success of the celebrated Bachmann Narrow Gauge Double Fairlie’s which were first released a year ago.
Modelled faithfully, Charles, Linda and Blanche feature era-specific detail and liveries which represent each prototype authentically scaled down. The range features a diecast metal saddle tank, cylinder block, frames, footplate and chassis block.
The model locomotives are powerful as they are driven by a coreless motor and flywheel with all-wheel and feature separate metal bearings on each axle and a Next18 DCC decoder socket with pre-fitted speaker. The OO9 scale includes a brand new feature in firebox lighting which is able to be enjoyed once the separately fitted, hinged firebox door is posed in the open position. These models will be available during November in standard or SOUND-FITTED format.
Taking the Narrow Gauge theme further is the Scenecraft range which sees Ffestiniog Railway‘s well-loved Harbour Station at Porthmadog stunningly recreated in 4mm scale and is available in two different colour schemes. The Scenecraft range offers extremely detailed, hand-painted models and has been expanded to include the new N, OO and O scale releases including ‘Aidensfield Garage’ from the popular TV series ‘Heartbeat’.
The Graham Farish N scale range has also seen new diesel locomotives introduced this winter including two Class 20’s No. 20064 ‘River Sheaf’ and No. 20172 ‘Redmire’. Class 31 No. 31309 ‘Cricklewood’ has also been announced alongside 4 refurbished Class 31s and represents the latest Sales Area Exclusive models, each of which comes with or without SOUND-FITTED and can only be found from retailers in specific areas across the country.
OO Scale sees the Bachmann Branchline Western Pullman created in a new Train Pack and features two SOUND-FITTED power cars. The model accurately represents a former Midland Pullman six-car unit after moving to the Western Region.
Four steam locomotive types now feature new liveries and the WD Austerity and BR Standard 9F both see SOUND-FITTED for the very first time, the latter has also seen upgrades in order to house a Plux22 DCC decoder socket alongside a pre-fitted speaker.
Class 158 DMUs also see new liveries introduced alongside a collection of BR Maroon-liveried LNER Thompson Coaches which will also be available this Winter.
New tooling has also been made for Bachmann’s EFE Rail range which added to the popular EFE Rail OO scale ‘Gate Stock’ coaches new LSWR CrossCountry coaches have been created and will be available in book sets. The book sets are made up of three coaches with three liveries available.
The last of the new tooling is in the OO scale ZCA ‘Sea Urchin’ Open Wagon which is also from EFE Rail.
Finalising the lineup of new items for the Winter 2022 period are four brand new additional to Bachmann Europe’s Thomas & FriendsTM range and feature Edward the Blue Engine and Henry the Green Engine, the range also sees Harold the Helicopter and Bertie the Bus and will be available in time for Christmas 2022.
These new items are only available to buy from Bachmann stockists and the first release from the Winter 2022 collection should be with stockists over the next 14 days.
