Barrow Haven station has undergone a complete renovation alongside getting a brand new 60m platform which will serve passengers heading to , , and further afield.

The project has also seen the station’s accessibility improved with raised tactile paving on the full length of the new platform which will support visually impaired passengers.

A further sum of £26,000 has been provided by East Midlands Railway in order to carry out upgrades including:

  • A new waiting shelter
  • Cycle racks
  • Station signage
  • A Solar-powered help point

The upgrades aim to promote greener travel by improving the train travel experience for those making their way to the coast.

The station is now fully open and ready to welcome back passengers with an array of new facilities, a highlight of which will no doubt be not needing to travel to Barton-on-Humber or New Holland in order to travel by train.

Thursday the 10th of November saw representatives from , , the Friends of the Barton Line alongside Barrow upon Humber Parish Council come together for the station’s official re-opening.
