Transport for Wales is making progress with the building of the South Wales Metro, with work to go ahead across the Core Valley lines.
The line between Abercynon and Merthyr Tydfil will be closed from Tuesday 11th October to Thursday 3rd November. This will allow for engineering works to take place in preparation of the electric tram trains.
While this work takes place, rail replacement buses will call at all stations.
Part of the work will include completing the remainder of the foundation work and steel post installations for the overhead equipment.
The work also includes new track work and crossings at Pentrebach and Quakers Yard, as well as a new platform at Quakers Yard will be completed.
This investment will help to improve connectivity providing more opportunities across Wales.
The project was partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.
