Northern Belle named Britain’s Best Train but is beaten by Japan in the world’s top 10

Northern Belle has been named Britain’s Best Train and has been place in the World’s Top 10 by Cone Naste Traveller readers.

Readers scored the operator a satisfaction rating of 86.79%

A spokesman said: “This just confirms what we always knew – when it comes to luxury, the is in a class of its own.

“Not only do we have some exciting trips from stations all over Britain, but we have excellent staff who ensure our passengers have an onboard experience second to none.

“And then, of course, our wonderful chef Matthew Green, who prepares our delicious meals, really knows his onions.”

The Best Train In The World was awarded to the Seven Stars in Kyushi, Japan, which has a tea lounge stretching two carraiges, but an overnight trip on that will set you back $5,833 per person.

  1. A good report except for the cost in dollars from an unknown country. I guess the country is the United States of America. Please, may the cost be put in UK Pounds?
