Limited Train Services Out Of London Euston During RMT Strike

Passengers planning on travelling on Saturday 8th October, are being warned by train operators to avoid getting caught out by the reduced timetable.

During the strike action there will be only three trains per hour out of compared to the usual 17 as well as services finishing earlier in the day.

Some of the last trains will leave between 3pm and 5pm, so passengers should only travel by rail if necessary.

Those who have to travel can check www.nationalrail.co.uk to keep up to date with trains.

will be providing as many services as possible using qualified back up staff to keep trains going.

Passengers should also keep in mind that services on the morning of the 9th October will be starting later.

James Dean, Network Rail’s West Coast South route director, said: “Despite our best efforts to compromise and find a breakthrough in talks, rail unions remain intent on continuing and coordinating their strike action. This will once again have a major impact on the , causing misery for millions of rail passengers. With a fraction of the usual workforce available, including signallers who safely move trains around the network, there will be a severely limited service during RMT strike action this Saturday.

“I can only apologise for the impact another RMT strike will have on people’s lives. It is frustrating to yet again ask our passengers to change their plans and only make absolutely essential journeys.”
