Greater Anglia refurbishes Essex station’s platform canopies

Greater Anglia has recently invested £100,000 to refurbish the Victorian railway station at rail station in .

The work was undertaken to repair and restore two platform canopies – one on the north side of the booking hall, and one on the south side – to give the Victorian structure a new lease of life.

The existing roof coverings were removed which allowed damaged timbers to be removed and replaced. Both canopies then had their roofs replaced and were redecorated. At the same time old guttering and downpipes were also replaced.

The station has also recently benefitted from a number of other improvements. These include:
