Crewe Heritage Centre has announced that Class 91 locomotive, 91120, has joined the museum fleet on a long term loan from Europhoenix.
The locomotive arrived in Crewe this week after a journey on the mainline with two Class 37s.
A total of 31 Class 91 locomotives were built by BREL in Crewe up to 1991 and have spent the majority of the working lives on the East Coast Main Line between London and Edinburgh.
Visitors to the heritage centre can already enjoy getting up and close with the locomotive as it is already on display.
A spokesperson for Crewe Heritage Centre said “Thanks to an agreement between the Crewe Heritage Trust and Europhoenix we are delighted to announce the arrival of British Rail Class 91 (91 120). We would like to extend thanks to our friends at Europhoenix for their kind support with this project, the locomotive will be on display at the Heritage Centre from this weekend.”
