Starting this Saturday, 1st October and continuing to next Sunday, 9th October, some services on London Overground, the Elizabeth Line, and parts of London Underground will be severely disrupted due to planned industrial action by the RMT and ASLEF unions.

Although most of Transport for London (TfL) services will not be affected by the industrial action, the strikes will affect different transport services on different days. Customers should plan ahead, check before they travel and leave more time for their journeys. Bus services are unaffected by the strikes and will run as normal, but they may be busier than usual.

Anyone travelling to the TCS London Marathon should check with the event organiser and plan their journeys in advance using TfL’s real-time travel tools, including status updates, Journey Planner and TfL Go.

London travel advice for next week:

Saturday 1 October

• From around 04:00 on Saturday morning, there will be no service on the entire London Overground network because of the ASLEF strike action.
• Night Overground services on Friday, 30th September will run until around 04:00 on Saturday, 1st October, which is an earlier finish than normal.
• Services on London Overground and parts of the District and Bakerloo Lines will be affected by RMT strike action on national rail services.
• Services on the District Line between Wimbledon and Parson’s Green and between Richmond and Turnham Green will be disrupted, with limited services running between 07:15 and 18:30 only.
• Minor delays are expected on the District Line from Parson’s Green to Upminster after 18:00.
• There will only be limited services on the Bakerloo Line between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone from 08:00 to 18:00. Outside these times there will be no service.
• On the Elizabeth Line, the central section from Paddington to Abbey Wood will have a normal service until 17:45 when services will be reduced, on the eastern section between Liverpool Street and Shenfield, trains there will be a reduced service of two trains per hour from around 07:30 to 17:30, on the western section between Paddington and Reading there will be two trains per hour from around 07:40 to 17:10, and on the western section between Paddington and Heathrow, there will be four trains per hour to Heathrow T2/3, with two of these continuing to T4 and the other two trains per hour continuing to T5. There will be no rail services to the airport after around 17:10.
• There will be no Piccadilly Line service between Acton Town and Heathrow. Rail replacement buses will run to Heathrow from both Acton Town and Hammersmith.

Sunday 2 October

• On the London Overground, Bakerloo, and District Lines, services will start slightly later than normal.
• Elizabeth Line services will start around 06:30 in the east and 08:00 in the west.
• There will be no Piccadilly Line service between Acton Town and Heathrow Airport. Rail replacement buses will run to Heathrow from both Acton Town and Hammersmith.

Wednesday 5 October

• There will be no service on the entire London Overground network because of strike action by train drivers who are part of the ASLEF union.

Thursday 6 October

• London Overground services will run as normal.

Friday 7 October

• Night Overground services will run until around 04:00 on Saturday, 8th October, which is an earlier finish than normal.

Saturday 8 October

• Services on London Overground will be affected by RMT strike action on national rail services. There will be no services between 04:00 and 08:00 and after 18:00, and a reduced service will operate between 08:00 and 18:00.
• Saturday Night Overground services will not operate.
• Services on the District line between Wimbledon and Parson’s Green and between Richmond and Turnham Green will be disrupted, with limited services running between 07:15 and 18:30 only.
• Minor delays are expected on the District Line from Parson’s Green to Upminster after 18:00.
• Due to engineering work, the District Line between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon will be closed.

• Trish Ashton, TfL’s Director of Rail and Sponsored Services, said:
• “Customers will still be able to travel during these strikes including using the bus network, but we strongly advise them to plan ahead and check before they travel. There is expected to be disruption on some of London’s rail services this weekend and next, with small parts of the Tube also affected.”
