The newest carriage in the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway’s fleet has entered service.
Thanks to a generous donation from Bob and Jan Bloodworth, Super Saloon No. 808 has entered service.
The new carriage carriage uses the maximum available space on the Ffestiniog Railway to provide a more comfortable and spacious space for passengers.
Paul Lewin, General Manager at the railway, says that the new carriage has heating and double glazing a well as bigger windows and more space and legroom.
The carriage is now in service, so maybe you will see it on your next visit.
F&WHR General Manager Paul Lewin comments: “The building of carriage 808 is part of our ongoing programme to construct a number of these spacious ‘Super Saloons’. The new carriage will go straight into service providing an immediate benefit to our customers. The levels of comfort afforded by the larger carriages on the Welsh Highland are now available to passengers on the Ffestiniog, with heating and double glazing in every carriage, together with bigger windows and increased space and legroom.”
