From Monday 26th September, customers can benefit from quicker and easier journeys across the DLR network due to the introduction of a new timetable.
The Elizabeth line, which opened in May, has a number of people travelling for work and leisure more often. The new timetable will help accommodate the increase of users by making more trains available.
Not only will there be more frequent services but the trains will also run longer into the evenings as well as weekends. These changes aim to reduce interchange waiting times, making lots of journeys a lot quicker.
From Sunday 6th November, the Elizabeth line services will be integrated and DLR customers will be a single change away from major destinations such as Heathrow Airport. All of the DLR routes are the benefit from increased services in the coming months.
The main changes across the network include:
- Weekday services running every 4 minutes instead of 6-7 minutes
- Daytime and early evening services running every 5 minutes instead of 10 minutes
Stratford to Lewisham via Canary Wharf
- Weekday morning services will see every other train from Stratford will continue to Lewisham providing a service every 2-4 minutes between Canary Wharf and Lewisham.
Canning Town to Beckton
- Canning Town to Beckton shuttle is being reintroduced in the off peak and in peak. Running very 4 minutes during the morning and evening weekday peaks, currently every 8 minutes, and every 5 minutes during off-peak daytimes throughout the week, instead of every 10 minutes.
Tom Page, TfL’s General Manager for the DLR, said: “It is fantastic to see customers regularly using the DLR again and we want to make sure the timetable provides the best possible service. The changes will help our customers complete their journeys more quickly and easily.”

Can someone please tell me who decided, and when, to call passengers on Trains, Trams, and Buses customers?
We are both passengers and customers but yes it’s tedious.
