Bachmann Europe is producing an OO-gauge (1:76 scale) limited edition model of London Underground‘s S stock exclusively for the London Transport Museum.
The new model is a four-car set consisting of two driving cars (A 21002 and D 21001) and two trailer cars (M2 25002 and MS 24001), and is DDC ready. London Transport Museum first launched an exclusive London Underground S stock model train in 2015.
This set is finished in standard 2014 S Stock London Underground livery with a destination board that displays 425 Baker Street. The S stock’s moquette pattern is printed on the interior seating, which is a first for Bachmann.
The new set costs £595 and will go on sale online and in London Transport Museum’s Covent Garden shop in the late autumn. It is also available to pre-order online now at www.ltmuseumshop.co.uk
The S Stock has been in service on London Underground’s subsurface lines since 2010 and was built by Bombardier Transportation at Derby, It replaced the 1960s and 1970s-era A60, A62, C69, C77, and D78 stock on the Metropolitan, District, Hammersmith & City, and Circle Lines.
A total of 192 trains with a total of 1,403 cars of S7 Stock were ordered, with S7 stock for the Circle, District, and Hammersmith & City Lines, and S8 Stock for the Metropolitan Line.
