The Yorkshire Wolds Railway will be hosting members of the and Railway Stock Fund at on the 10th and 11th of September.

Based in , the Hull and Barnsley Railway Stock Fund aims to save rolling stock and artefacts of the line.

The Fund formed back in 1968 and is now on the way to completing a big restoration project on coach No. 1 at Hull College.

To allow as many as possible to see items being displayed the Yorkshire Wolds Railway will be open 10-3pm on Saturday and 10-4pm on Sunday, with cab rides available on the 1000ft railway line.

The Yorkshire Wolds Railway will also be open every Sunday until the end of October to involve as many people as possible since its work across summer on #loveyourrailway.

Those interested in getting involved by becoming a member or volunteering can find more information at the Yorkshire Wolds Railway website or call 01377 338053 for more information.

YWR operations director Martyn Jones said, “We are really excited to be once again welcoming members of H&BRSF to the YWR when they will be bringing many artefacts including tickets and pictures of the Hull and Barnsley Railway around Hull and the Wolds. We did a similar event last year and it proved very popular. Its great to be working once again with the team from Hull to offer something a little different in the unique space here at the YWR”.

Matthew Brown, media director said “opening both days allows those who have not visited us before an alternative day to come to site and see what has been happening. We appreciate that not everyone is available to visit on a Sunday, and as our friends at the H&BRSF will be with us we thought it was a perfect opportunity.

Matthew continued “the YWR and its fellow heritage railways from across the UK carry over 13 million passengers each year, over 560 miles of railway line and contribute £400 million in economic impact. 22,000 volunteers and over 4,000 paid employees keep the UK’s heritage railways on track, highlighting the significant role railways played through the industrial revolution. As a FULLY volunteer run, charity registered operation, the YWR is proud to be a part of the campaign and we thank everyone for their support.
