Class 40 and Britannia steam locomotive to take part in Lancaster to Bristol tour

UPDATE: 45231 now hauling the train alongside 70000 Britannia

BR No. D213 Andania and BR Britannia No. 70000 ‘Britannia’ will haul The Bristol Forty tour this coming Tuesday, 13th September 2022.

The tour departs Lancaster behind D213 at 06:00 and will pass through Preston (06:24), Wigan North Western (06:45), Bank Quay (06:59), (07:41), Stafford (08:34), Penkridge (08:54), Birmingham New Street (09:44), (11:03), Yate (11:37), Filton Abbey Wood (11:47) and Bristol Temple Meads at 11:55.

After time in Bristol, and change of locomotive to 70000 Britannia, the tour will depart Bristol Temple Meads at 15:06 and will pass through (15:20), Bromsgrove (17:12), Walsall (19:11), Penkridge (19:50), Stafford (19:57) and Crewe at 20:54.

Here, D213 takes back over the train. Departing Crewe at 21:26, D213 will return to Lancaster via Warrington Bank Quay (21:48), Wigan North Western (22:04), Preston (22:31) and Lancaster at 23:10.
