On Tuesday 30th August from 20:00 until 31st August at 06:00, the A78 near Wemyss Bay will be closed.
Network Rail will be carrying out surveys on the railway bridge and are reminding residents and motorists of the closure.
They are completing this structural survey to assess whether any work needs to be done on the bridge in the foreseeable future.
The road closure will be managed by Coneworx with warning signs put out in advance to help people divert around the closure.
Darren Dickson, Project Manager for Network Rail, said: “The work we’re undertaking will provide vital information on the condition of this railway bridge is crucial for the long-term future reliability of the line.
“Working on the railway at night offers the safest environment for our teams and causes the least disruption to our passengers and freight trains. However, we understand the inconvenience this work will cause some people.
“We would like to thank those affected for their patience and understanding and offer assurances that every effort has been made to reduce the impact of our activities as much as possible.”
