Metro services are now fully operational following work to repair overhead lines between South Gosforth and Airport.
Engineering teams from Nexus worked through the night in order for services to be operational in all areas of the Metro network.
The suspension of trains this morning meant that the normal morning timetable didnt not start as usual with customers advised to check the Nexus website or social media for further service updates ahead of making their journeys.
Metro services were suspended on the afternoon of Wednesday the 10th of August between Haymarket and Airport and Haymarket and Four Lane Ends following damage to an overhead line in the Gosforth area.
The damage caused was due to extremely hot weather which led the power lines to expand and sag creating.
Nexus has thanked its customers for their patience and understanding during the disruption
