Tomorrow, Saturday, 13th August, there will be no train running into or out of Euston’s main line station due to industrial action by members of the train drivers’ union ASLEF.
Train drivers across the UK who are members of ASLEF are striking for one day, including three out of the four train operating companies that serve Euston. Drivers who work for Caledonian Sleeper are not involved in the action.
Neither Avanti West Coast nor London Northwestern Railway will be running any train services and are advising members of the public not to attempt to travel tomorrow.
For detailed advice from Euston’s train operators please use the following links:

The external entrance and exit to Euston’s London Underground station will be open, but the entrances and exits to Euston’s main line station will be closed. Anyone needing assistance will be able to call on Network Rail staff, who will be on hand to help.
Passengers using Euston were affected earlier this year when engineering works closed the station during the weekend of the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, 16th April, and during the early May Bank Holiday.
Although there may be services on other routes, people are advised against travelling on them as due to the strike action, only limited services may be running. Also, train operators not involved in the strike action are expected to be extremely busy.
There will be major impacts on other routes between London and the Midlands, Northern England, and Scotland.
Anyone who has travel plans for tomorrow is advised to check the latest travel information via National Rail Enquiries at www.nationalrail.co.uk or with individual train operators.
Although services will resume on Sunday, 14th August, passengers should check the latest information before they travel.
James Dean, Network Rail West Coast South route director, said:
“We’re sorry to passengers who’ll be impacted by the ASLEF strike by train drivers this Saturday. With the majority of Euston’s train operators involved we’ve taken the difficult decision to close the station all day. I’d please urge people to follow the advice of their train operator for information on ticketing and refunds. You can also plan your journey for an alternative day by using the National Rail Enquiries website at www.nationalrail.co.uk.”
