The rail operator has ensured that plenty of trains will be operating in order to get festival-goers home following the event, including extra late-night and early-morning trains for those who are not camping.

Services returning revellers from the event are anticipated to be extremely busy as queuing systems will be in operation.

is also reminding festival-goers travelling by train to only bring what they can carry in order to leave space for fellow passengers alongside a reminder to book ahead and reserve a seat.

GWR Station Manager Kevin King explains:

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming people to Reading Station for the world-famous festival. To try to keep everyone as safe as possible, please allow extra time for your journey home as a queuing system will be in operation on Monday.

“To help you board safely and allow space for others, please do not bring excessive amounts of luggage.”

In order to avoid disappointment when arriving at stations customers should:

  • Reserve their seat when buying a ticket via GWR.com or by using the GWR app
  • Allow extra time even if you have booked a ticket as trains from Reading will be extremely busy
  • Be prepared to wait as queueing systems will be in place at stations in order to help people board their reserved train
  • Remember your Railcard
  • Remember to charge your phone if you have an electronic ticket
