Earlier this month, between Westoning and along the Mainline, there was an attempt to steal a large amount of cable.

Between 11pm on Friday 12th August and 1:30am on Saturday 13th August, the offenders attempted to steal the cable and, whilst they were unsuccessful, they still caused significant damage.

The damage has resulted in over 60 hours of delays on the network and cost over £450,000.

Detectives are asking if anyone was in the area the night of Friday 12th August and for witnesses or those with information to come forward to help with the investigation.

They want to speak to anyone in the area that could have witnessed something like suspicious vehicles such as quad bikes.

Any information can be given to through texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 762 12 August.

On the other hand, you can call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
