Detectives are investigating an incident which occurred on Monday 1st August. The incident occurred during the night between 11:30pm on the 1st and 1:30am on the 2nd.
There was a significant amount of rail cable stolen from the Midlands Mainline trackside between Wellingborough and Kettering.
British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses with information on the incident to come forward to help with the investigation on the crime, which has led to over 120 hours of delays on the network.
Alongside the appeal for witnesses, they are also appealing to local scrap metal dealers for any large amounts of high end pure copper being brought to them.
