In the video below, we see Executive liveried 43184 on her first services in its striking heritage livery to celebrate the 40th anniversary of cross-country services. The Class 43 was first revealed by CrossCountry in its ‘Executive’ livery on the 5th of July and was out in action the very next day.

The video begins at Tapton Bridge in as 43184 (formerly 43384) powers away from a stop on its way to Sheffield on a Plymouth to Edinburgh Waverley service with 43303 on the rear and running 39 minutes late.

This is the first time in decades that a HST powercar has operated a passenger service in this livery!

To add more detail to the film we chose to capture further footage of the HST this time at Chesterfield Station on the 7th of July with a non-stop pass-through platform 1 on the northbound service heading from Plymouth to Leeds powering through the golden evening summer sunlight and looking exceptional.

  1. I bet that Incredibly Fast InterCity 125 Power Car Number 43184, could still have further potential on becoming yet another Preserved Power Car within Railway Preservation one day, especially in that Terrificaly Appealing Livery (so to speak).
