Network Rail plans to welcome members of the public who wish to enjoy a guided walk on the iconic bridge for the first time as permission has been granted to create the single-storey reception hub and a car park at the site in South Queensferry.

The reception hub has been specifically designed to have minimum impact on the surrounding area and will provide visitors with staggering views of the magnificent .

The hub will be used to prepare those heading out on the bridge walk alongside providing an access point to the structure.

The experience will see groups of between 12 and 15 people don safety harnesses before being led out onto the bridge’s south cantilever and taking a breathtaking walk up to the viewing point at the top via walkways which are built into the structure.
