The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway has announced that Manning Wardle 2-6-2T ‘Lyd’ will be returning for their September Gala.
Visiting thanks to the Ffestiniog Railway, Lyd will be running alongside replica L&B Baldwin ‘Lyn’, the first time they have appeared together since 2019.
The gala takes place on the 24th and 25th September.
Lyd runs on the Ffestiniog Railway between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog, but is, at the time of writing, based at Dinas on the Welsh Highland Railway ahead of the new Y Cwellyn service between Caernarfon and Rhyd Ddu.
The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway is a narrow-gauge railway based at Woody Bay in North Devon and runs for around 1 mile in length. Train rides last around 25 minutes, operating currently between Woody Bay and Killington Lane Halt.
