As part of the LNER repaint and rebrand of its Intercity 225 fleet, locomotive 91110 Battle of Britain Memorial Flight has been unveiled after its maintenance was completed.
The updated vinyl and new paintwork features the original design that was first unveiled 10 years ago.
The design pays tribute to those who served in their country and features the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane.
91110, which broke the BR speed record in 1989 with a speed of 162mph, is set to re-enter service in due course.
91110 retains its special livery, as will 91111 For The Fallen and 91119 Bounds Green Depot.
Other Class 91s and Mk4 coaches will receive LNER’s special new livery which is inspired the by the original InterCity livery. All of the 12 locos and 8 sets of coaches will be rebranded in the coming months.

I’m glad that LNER are retaining 91110 and 91111 as they were originally done. They look splendid as they speed along the tracks
