Class 40 and steam locomotive 35018 British India Line to haul Chester – Carlisle tour this Tuesday

UPDATE: Tour now believed to be hauled by 35018 British India Line

Class 40 No. 40145 and 35018 British India Line will haul this week’s Chester – Carlisle ‘Dalesman’ railtour on Tuesday 5th July.

Departing Chester at 07:32, the tour, hauled by 40145, will pass through (07:42), Frodsham (07:46), Runcorn East (07:57), Warrington Bank Quay (08:03), Wigan North Western (08:28), Leyland (08:48), Preston (09:05), (09:39), (10:07), (10:26 – steam hauled from here), (11:24), Appleby (12:00) and Carlisle at 12:52.

After time in Carlisle, the train, still hauled by 35018 British India Line, will depart at 15:08. The train will pass through Oxenholme Lake District (16:32) and Carnforth South Junction at 16:49.

From here, 40145 takes over the train. Departing at 17:44, the train will pass through Lancaster (17:52), Preston (18:14), Leyland (18:37), Wigan North Western (18:51), Warrington Bank Quay (19:09), Frodsham (19:23) and Chester at 19:47.
