Where to see steam locomotive 45596 Bahamas on its way through Sheffield this Saturday

45596 Bahamas will be back on the mainline this Saturday as it hauls Railway Touring Company’s Jubilee Buxton Spa Express.

The train is set to depart from West Ealing behind a diesel locomotive at 06:18 and will be passing through St Albans (07:01), Luton (07:15), (07:44), (08:20), Leicester (09:00), Chesterfield (10:26) and Barrow Hill at 10:37.

Here, 45596 Bahamas is added to the train. Departing at 11:12, the tour will pass through (11:45), Grindleford (12:04), Edale (12:18) and Buxton at 13:22.

The return trip will depart Buxton at 14:37 and will pass through (14:54), Stockport (15:32), Denton (15:44), New Mills Central (16:35), Edale (17:00), Hathersage (17:10), Chesterfield (17:36), Langley Mill (18:22), (18:44) and Humberstone Road (18:59). Here, 45596 Bahamas is taken off the train and is replaced by a diesel.

The tour will head back to West Ealing, calling at Leicester (19:34), Kettering (20:02), Bedford (20:30), Luton (21:05), St Albans (21:25) and West Ealing at 22:23.

45596 Bahamas is due to leave the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway early on Saturday morning to head to Barrow Hill to join the train. You can find full timings for the movement here.

  1. Once again I am grateful to Railadvent, this was not even on my radar today. Then seeing it will be watering at Denton I realised I am 20 minutes away playing at street party. Timings work, so Denton here I come (hopefully).
