Steam locomotive 7029 Clun Castle to visit Cardiff from Birmingham this Saturday

Steam locomotive 7029 Clun Castle will be back on the mainline as it hauls a tour to Cardiff Central this Saturday, 11th June 2022.

Departing Birmingham Snow Hill at 08:03, the train will pass through Tyseley (08:14), (08:27), (08:50), (09:14), Oxford (09:51), Swindon (11:11), Bristol Parkway (11:47), Junction (12:05), Newport (12:47) and Cardiff Central at 13:15.

Note: Between Maindee Junction and Cardiff Central, the tour will be diesel hauled, with 7029 Clun Castle on the rear. This means that it will pass through Newport and Cardiff Central with the diesel loco leading.

After 4 hours in Cardiff, 7029 Clun Castle will depart Cardiff Central at 17:19 and will pass through Newport (17:36), Patchway (18:12), Swindon (18:52), Oxford (20:02), Banbury (20:29), (21:48), Widney Manor (22:00), Tyseley (22:12) and Birmingham Snow Hill (22:35).
