London Transport Museum to host Elizabeth line ‘street party’

Painting the town purple, the London Transport Museum will hold the ‘street party’ event on Friday the 9th of September starting at 18:45

The event will see a ‘street party’ themed Late in celebration of the opening of the and will be hosted by historical characters for each decade of the Queen’s reign.

Guests will be seated around a giant street party table and can enjoy nostalgic games such as hopscotch and snakes and ladders and creative fun such as wristband making.

A line up of lively short talks about the Elizabeth line will also be taking place by documentary curator Rosamund Lily West and will reveal how the museum chooses which contemporary items to collect and which artefacts and works of art people will see in the future when they wish to learn about the opening of the Elizabeth line.

Guests at the event will also be able to get on board historic buses, Tube trains and trams from the past whilst discovering the secrets of London’s disused Underground stations in the award-winning Hidden London Exhibition and The Future Engineers gallery will offer attendees the chance to learn how to drive an Elizabeth line train.

Elizabeth line inspired purple cocktails will also be available at the bar with guests able to enjoy exploring the Museum’s exhibitions after dark.

The event will take place on Friday the 9th of September and will begin at 18:45.
