The Aln Valley Railway in Northumberland has launched its appeal’s phase 2 to help them secure the 172-year-old viaduct, keeping it safe and strong into its third century.
Phase 1 of the viaduct project has now been completed and due to generous supporters the waterproofing has been covered, and will stop any further rainwater damage affecting the structure
Phase 2 of the project has now been launched and will see a fundraising campaign to cover the costs to repair current damage on the viaduct.
For anyone wishing to support the appeal, the following sponsorship packages are available:
- BRONZE – Brick Repair/Replacement: For a donation of £50 you can have your initials on the Aln Valley Railway’s viaduct display stand at Lionheart station.
- SILVER – Voussoir Repair: For a donation of £120, you can have your full name on the Aln Valley Railway’s viaduct display at Lionheart station.
- GOLD – Springerstones/keystones Repair: For a donation of £400, you can have your full name on the Aln Valley Railway’s viaduct display at Lionheart station and also receive a guided tour of Cawledge Viaduct by the heritage railway’s Civil Engineers.
- PLATINUM – Pier/Abutment Repair: For a donation of £1,000, you can have your full name on the Aln Valley Railway’s viaduct display at Lionheart station, receive a guided tour of Cawledge Viaduct by the heritage railways Civil Engineers alongside your name being placed on a plaque on Cawledge Viaduct.
