Steam locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman to visit Carlisle this Thursday

46115 Scots Guardsman will be heading to Carlisle this Thursday (26th May 2022) as it hauls a section of The Dalesman.

The locomotive will be heading from Hellifield to Carlisle and return.

The tour will depart at 08:25 behind a diesel locomotive, before heading via Church Fenton (08:37), Normanton (09:24), (09:31), Wakefield Westgate (09:39), Leeds (09:58), Keighley (10:58), (11:14) and Hellifield Goods Loop at 11:31.

Here, the steam locomotive is added to the train, departing at 12:20, the locomotive will head via (12:42), Kirkby Stephen (13:06), Langwathby (13:33) and Carlisle at 14:11.

The return trip will see the locomotive depart Carlisle at 16:27 before heading via (17:16) and Settle Jn (18:28), heading into Hellifield at 18:34, where the steam locomotive leaves the train.

The diesel locomotive will take over the train, heading via Skipton (19:51), Shipley (20:26), Leeds (20:44), Wakefield Westgate (21:12), Normanton (21:22), Church Fenton (21:56) and finally York at 22:20.
