Merseyrail is asking its customers to nominate an employee who they consider deserves to win a Customer Star Award in the company’s annual Achievement .

The awards celebrate Merseyrail staff across the organisation, and the Customer Star Award is in recognition of when a particular member of staff has offered great customer service, impressed by the way they have done their job, handled a difficult situation well, or provided help in some way.

Customers can nominate a member of staff they see every day who provides a consistently friendly and helpful service, or a one-off incident where a Merseyrail employee went above and beyond their expected range of duties.

As a business, the company’s core values are “Genuine, Professional, Proactive & Inclusive” and they would like to know which member of staff customers feel best displays those values.

Nominations can be made by filling out this formon the Merseyrail website: https://www.merseyrail.org/about-merseyrail/merseyrail-customer-star-award.aspx.

The closing date for nominations is Thursday, 30th June. To register a vote, customers should state who they are nominating and what they did to impress.

Merseyrail employees wear name-badges, but if you didn’t see or can’t remember their name, just state which station or train they were on, with the date and approximate time. Also, provide a brief description of the person such as a male ticket seller with short blond hair at Southport station on 5th September at 8 am.

All nominations will be reviewed, and the winner will be announced later this year.

Jane English, People Director at Merseyrail, said: “Due to COVID-19 we have been unable to host our annual Merseyrail Achievement Awards for the last two years. To mark their return, we wanted to do something special to recognise the staff who have worked on the frontline, keeping the City Region moving throughout the pandemic. This is a great opportunity for our customers to shine a light on those staff members who have made a difference to their journey, supported them with their needs, or simply put a smile on their face. I encourage all of our customers to take part and nominate someone they feel deserves this award as we strive to recognise those who go above and beyond.”
