Helston Railway is excited to welcome back visitors to their little railway and hopes that people will take the opportunity to come along and visit the spellbinding quality that this stunning line has to offer.

2022 has seen add to their opening days of Sundays and Thursdays and will now see Wednesdays added throughout the months of July and August. The heritage railway’s Peckett 2000 is back in operation and also a new diesel locomotive Kingswood which may also see service on some days.

Train times will remain the same and are available via the 2022 timetable page on the website: https://www.helstonrailway.co.uk/visit-us/timetable/

Prospidnick has free parking and sees the first train leave at 10.30am and the last train leaves at 3pm. Those wishing to join the train at Truthall Halt will have to walk, as there isn’t any parking at the station. Tickets are available to buy on the day from the shop.

Visitors who haven’t experienced a day out on the railway can look forward to sampling the delicious food at the buffet and restaurant cars. The Buffet Carriages at Prospidnick Halt sees a wide variety of locally sourced foods including breakfast, homemade cakes, light lunches, afternoon teas and Cornish ice creams. The buffet and restaurant cars include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives. To find out more about the buffet or bookings please get in touch with Fred through his Facebook page Cornish Carriages Buffet and Restaurant Cars.

The Helston railway shop also features a good mix of colourful railway-themed gifts, clothing and an excellent selection of preloved railway books, reconditioned model railway locos, carriages and accessories alongside preloved Thomas Toys, which offer a reasonably priced treat for younger train fans.

Dogs are welcome at the railway except for the buffet as space is limited, however it does have outdoor facilities.
