Hoylake train station now includes a dog-friendly coffee shop so Wirral passengers can enjoy breakfast with their furry friends

Flissy’s @ The Station is now officially open following a ceremonial ribbon cutting attended by owners Felicity and Andy Dean alongside Merseyrail Deputy Managing Director Jane English.

Already the owner of Flissy’s Coffee Shop at GJ’s in Thurston, Felicity, who lives on the Wirral, wants to carry on the success to .

The cafe hopes to help passengers get their day off to a cracking start with a lovely fresh cup of coffee and a tasty pastry or breakfast bap.

Featuring the fabulous artwork of Tom Corlett at Octowold Industries which was created for the cafe and celebrates the area’s noted landmarks.

The cafe’s fresh, local produce and snacks will be available for commuters and Merseyrail passengers to enjoy and also for dog visitors too and even has dog-friendly ice cream!

Felicity said: “I love the fact that we have teamed up with Merseyrail to open our second venture – it is an established brand and as a local businesswoman, I feel extremely proud to have the opportunity to be a part of it.

“I have driven past Hoylake station for years and always said I would love to have that opportunity, so we are very excited to see what we can bring to Merseyrail and its customers.”

Jane English, Deputy Managing Director at Merseyrail, said: “We are pleased to welcome Fliss and her business to the Merseyrail network as we look to expand our commercial offering across our stations.

“Flissy’s will assist us in providing the best possible customer experience with some delicious snacks and beverages for our Hoylake commuters and we can’t wait to hear what our passengers think.”

  1. Hmmm…a coffee shop being “dog friendly” is a reason for me NOT to patronise it. I’m afraid that some dog owners will let their dogs climb onto chairs and tables and spread their inevitable dirt – and germs – they carry spread all over the shop
