The makeover has seen North’s entrance updated with eye-catching artwork whilst inside has been painted and new pigeon netting put in place.

The upgrades are part of a broader programme of transformation across ‘s rail network

The rail operators ‘A Better Way to Go’ campaign is set to highlight the work carried out in a bid to improve each step of a customer’s travel experience.

Chris Jackson, regional director at Northern, said:

“I would like to thank our customers for their patience while improvement works were carried out. The station looks fantastic, and the new look will help us provide a better travelling experience for all our passengers.”

We are working hard to make sure our stations are safe, accessible and welcoming places for customers and even small changes – like giving our stations a fresh coat of paint – can make a big difference.

“Our A Better Way to Go campaign demonstrates the hard work that has taken place as we continue to transform rail travel in the north and I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved.”

  1. North station is so out of date, unstylish, and is an absolute mess on the outside.
Given all the regeneration that is going on in Blackpool, shouldn’t the outside of the station be brought up to date to reflect the buildings around it. Instead of a big white lump with a trashy glass front, This is 2023 not 1823.
