“The Royal Charter” luxury rail tour is to travel from Crewe to Royal Windsor on Jubilee Bank Holiday, Friday, 3rd June, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The tour is being run by Locomotive Services Limited and will be hauled by 70000 Britannia which was built in 1951, one year before the Queen’s accession.
Passengers will travel in Saphos Trains’ luxury carriages with pick-up points at Crewe, Stafford, and Nuneaton.
All funds raised from the charter will help the Railway Benefit Fund, which has been supporting railway workers since 1858. The charity was granted a Royal Charter in 1949, and has a long history of helping railway families who are going through tough times and need a helping hand.
Passengers will have around five hours at Windsor to visit the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world or sample the wide range of cafes and bars in the town.
For passengers opting for Pullman Dining, a traditional full English breakfast will be served on the outward journey.
During the return journey, there will be canapes and a sumptuous four-course dinner created by the Executive Chef and fit for a King or Queen, with the main course of Royal Windsor estate beef.
All tables will be dressed in crisp white linen and the finest glassware and crockery, and a glass of champagne, half a bottle of wine per person, and mineral water are included.
For passengers who prefer to travel in First Class, a steward will serve tea, coffee, and biscuits, and there is also a buffet for light snacks, additional hot and cold drinks, and a fine selection of wine, beer, and spirits.
During the journey, there will be a fantastic charity raffle, with all proceeds donated to the Railway Benefit Fund.
