GB Railfreight unveil heritage livery for Class 69 locomotive

GB Railfreight have today unveiled a new look for their latest locomotive.

The unveiling took place at Eastleigh Works and shows Class 69 No. 69004 in retro BR Rail Research Livery.

The livery is to celebrate GBRf’s operation at RIDC Melton, which is a test facility for new technology in the rail industry.

This is the fourth Class 69 unveiled, with 69001 in GBRf livery with Mayflower nameplates and ‘whiskers’ on the front, 69002 being unveiled in BR Large Logo and 69003 in GBRf livery with ‘whiskers’ on the front.

A spokesperson for GB Railfreight said “Today we’ve unveiled our latest Class 69 locomotive outshopped in retro BR Rail Research livery. Class 69004 celebrates our operation at RIDC Melton, a dedicated test facility for new technology in the rail industry.”
