This weekend, Saturday, 5 and Sunday, 6 February, there is major engineering work on the line to enable important progress to be made with improvement projects at Upminster and West Horndon stations.

Train services on the line will be disrupted, and some services will be cancelled with rail-replacement buses operating in their place. Passengers should plan ahead and allow sufficient time for their journey.

Saturday 5 February

The following train services will run:

  • Liverpool Street to Shoeburyness via Dagenham Dock, Rainham, Purfleet, Grays, and all stations from Pitsea;
  • Liverpool Street to Shoeburyness via Grays, Tilbury Town, East Tilbury, Stanford-le-Hope, and all stations from Pitsea;
  • Laindon to Basildon to Pitsea will be a shuttle train service.

Rail replacement buses will run on the following routes:

  • Upminster to Grays calling at Ockendon and Chafford Hundred;
  • Upminster to Horndon to Laindon;

For travel between Upminster and Barking stations, passengers should use District Line services.

Passengers who wish to travel to central London but do not have a direct train service on the day, may find their journey is quicker if they travel east and connect with train services at Pitsea rather than using bus or tube services.
