As part of the station’s redevelopment, a new customer lounge area has been opened at Motherwell.
Situated in the former waiting area between platforms 2 and 3, the new lounge area brings many benefits for passengers.
The lounge now has new flooring and lighting, along with padded benches.
This new customer lounge is part of a £14.5m project to redevelop the railway station, which will see the station concourse and forecourt undergo redevelopment work.
Work on the new transport hub at Muir Street is set to start in the new few weeks and will improve access to the railway station.
John MacDonald, ScotRail Senior Project Manager, said: “Creating a welcoming station is key to making rail more attractive and improving overall customer experiences.
“The new facilities at the station will set the tone for their journey and I am delighted that this stage is complete.
“Combined with the work to improve transport integration outside the station, once complete, this project will create a gateway to Glasgow and beyond.”
