One of the Locomotive Services Ltd locomotives will be heading to Chesterfield this Wednesday.

The Chatsworth Christmas Sparkle Express will depart Carnforth at 05:22 behind a diesel locomotive and will pass through Lancaster (05:31), Preston (05:57), Wigan North Western (06:15), Warrington Bank Quay (06:29), Hartford (06:47) and Crewe at 07:12.

With the steam locomotive now attached to the train, it will depart Crewe at 07:12 and will pass through Madeley (07:59), Stafford (08:15), Colwich (08:25), Lichfield Trent Valley (08:40), Hinckley (09:16), Leicester (09:34), Loughborough (10:21), Langley Mill (10:50), Alfreton (10:58) and Chesterfield at 11:09.

After time to explore Chesterfield and Chatsworth House, the locomotive will depart Chesterfield at 18:05 and will pass through Alfreton (18:17), Langley Mill (18:24), Loughborough (18:54), Leicester (19:39), Nuneaton (20:04), Lichfield Trent Valley (20:28), Colwich (20:45), Stafford (21:00), Madeley (21:20), Crewe (21:34 – steam detaches here), Hartford (22:17), Warrington Bank Quay (22:40), Wigan North Western (23:04), Preston (23:28), Lancaster (23:50) and Carnforth at 00:02.
