Steam locomotive 44871 to haul Southend to Oxford tour this Thursday

Ex-LMS Black 5 No. 44871 will haul a Southend to Oxford tour this Thursday, 9th December 2021.

Departing Southend East at 09:07, the tour will pass through Southend Central (09:09), Chalkwell (09:12), Pitsea (09:22), Basildon (09:25), Upminster (09:40), Barking (09:55), Wanstead Park (10:06), Walthamstow Queen Road (10:12), South Tottenham (10:17), West Hampstead Thameslink (10:35), Cricklewood (10:37), Acton Main Line (11:20), Ealing Broadway (11:24), Drayton Green (11:28), Castle Bar Park (11:30), South Ruislip (12:08), West Ruislip (12:26), Beaconsfield (12:39), Saunderton (12:53), Princes Risborough (12:58), Bicester Village (13:48), Oxford Parkway (13:58) and Oxford at 14:19.

After a few hours in Oxford, 44871 will depart at 17:46 and will then pass through Radley (17:58), Didcot Parkway (18:09), Goring and Streatley (18:23), Reading (18:33), Twyford (18:43), Maidenhead (18:50), Slough (19:00), West Drayton (19:09), Hayes and Harlington (19:13), Southall (19:18), Ealing Broadway (19:27) and Willesden SWS (44871 replaced by diesel locomotive here).

A diesel locomotive will take the train back to Southend, passing through Camden Road (20:48), Hackney Wick (21:06), Stratford (21:11), Barking (21:22), Upminster (21:39), Southend Central (22:11) and Southend East at 22:19.
