Duchess steam locomotive to haul Norwich to Worcester tour

Steam locomotive 6233 Duchess of Sutherland is on the mainline this Thursday and will visit Peterborough with a tour from Norwich to Worcester.

The locomotive is on The Worcester Christmas Fayre this Thursday, 2nd December 2021.

Departing Norwich with a diesel locomotive at 06:55, the tour will pass through Attleborough (07:16), Thetford (07:34), Brandon (07:45) and Ely at 08:10 where 6233 Duchess of Sutherland is added to the train. From Ely, 6233 Duchess of Sutherland will pass through Manea (08:46), March (08:56), Peterborough (09:21), Oakham (09:57), Melton Mowbray (10:09), Leicester (11:25), Hinckley (11:43), Nuneaton (11:49), Water Orton (12:13), Kings Norton (12:40), Bromsgrove (12:55), Droitwich Spa (13:05) and Worcester Shrub Hill at 13:15.

After time in Worcester, 6233 will depart at 16:33 and will pass through Longbridge (17:07), Water Orton (17:42), Nuneaton (18:04), Leicester (18:35) and Humberstone Road (18:40 – 6233 replaced by a diesel locomotive here), Melton Mowbray (19:56) Peterborough (20:42), March (21:10), Brandon (22:10), Thetford (22:20), Attleborough (22:38), Wymondham (22:48) and Norwich at 23:04.

  1. Would not mind if CrossCountry would of introduced a new service from Norwich to Worcester Shrub Hill or Worcester Forester Square via Peterborough, Leicester and Birmingham New Street/Moor Street.
