The Ivatt Diesel Re-creation Society, aiming to construct LMS Ivatt No. 10000, has told RailAdvent it is holding an auction for a cab off Class 58 locomotive No. 58022.

The Society is hoping that both cabs from 58022 will be removed by the end of November. Whilst the society wants to keep one cab as a future exhibit, the Number 2 end is available for sale.

This auction has a deadline of the 15th of November. If you would like to bid, please email [email protected]

The cab has been totally stripped, the wooden floor has been removed, along with all gauges, switches, cab heater, seats and power controller pedestal.

The windows have unfortunately been broken by local vandals and the cab does not include the buffer beam, which on 58022 is part of the chassis.

The external doors are part of the main body and not part of the cab. There are no internal or external parts available to complete the cab.

  1. So it is a pile is scrap metal barely useable as a garden shed needing a low loader and a telescopic lift to take it away.

I wish them well in that auction, they would have to pay me to take it away!
