During Christmas and the New Year, train operator c2c will be making changes to their timetable.
The changes are to allow Network Rail extensive access to the c2c route to carry out a programme of improvements, maintenance and upgrades.
In particular, bridge-strengthening works will be taking place near both Fenchurch Street and Shadwell stations.
No c2c services will be able to access Fenchurch Street between 25 December and 3 January, with services either running to Liverpool Street or terminating at Barking.
The work is essential to maintain the safety and reliability of services. It will also help to prevent the need for speed restrictions, which cause delays.

c2c who have ordered 12 Class 720/6 5-Car Aventras should start ordering them after Christmas and to be in service from Spring next year. That is to replace the Class 387/3 to be moved for storage or cascaded to whoever wants them.
