As a world leader in sustainable mobility, Alstom play a key role in the Spanish rail sector and will be taking part in the Rail Live! 2021 event in Madrid, running from the 30th of November to the 1st of December.
The event will see Alstom display a full-scale model of the future trains for Barcelona Metro at their booth, and will also take part in panels and presentations regarding efficient and sustainable energy, multimodal, inclusive mobility, automatisation and metro systems. Alstom will also attend meetings to showcase their ongoing commitment to sustainable, inclusive, safe, healthy and efficient mobility.
At present, the impressive new trains are being manufactured at Alstom’s industrial centre in Santa Perpètua, Barcelona, and will feature the very latest in comfort, efficiency and sustainability, with the highest level of recyclability at 96.1%, low energy consumption, and adhering to the strict regulations regarding the use of materials.
The new trains can be reconfigured throughout their working life to give either the cabin version or the automatic version (GOA4), which provides driverless operation. The innovative design also includes the maximum requirements and advances to bring the best comfort onboard, connectivity and universal accessibility, through a collaboration with the Fundación ONCE.
