Tornado and Flying Scotsman steam locomotives to visit Carlisle this Wednesday

This Wednesday, 27th October 2021, LNER A1 No. 60163 Tornado and LNER A3 60103 Flying Scotsman will be hauling part of a tour to Carlisle from Middlesbrough.

Departing Middlesbrough at 07:37, Tornado will take the tour to Carlisle, passing through Yarm (07:59), Thirsk (08:28), York (09:05), Sherburn-in-Elmet (09:38), Castleford (10:08), Shipley (11:12), Keighley (11:27), Skipton (11:44), Hellifield (12:28) Ribblehead (12:48), Appleby (13:27), Langwathby (13:42) and Carlisle at 14:19.

After a change of loco to 60103 Flying Scotsman, the tour will depart Carlisle at 15:44 and will pass through Appleby (16:29), Garsdale (17:06), Ribblehead (17:18), Hellifield (17:41), Gargrave (19:03), Keighley (19:26), Shipley (19:35), Castleford (20:25), Church Fenton (20:42) and York at 20:55, where Flying Scotsman is replaced by a diesel locomotive.

From York, the diesel locomotives will pass through Thirsk (21:52), Yarm (22:19) and Middlesbrough (22:35).
