Passengers at London Euston can pose for selfies next to a huge West Coast main line map for a competition to win rail tickets to top locations
The competition will take place every Friday for the next four weeks with passengers taking part asked to take selfies on the gigantic map outside the front of the station and then post them on social media using the hashtag #EustonBackOnTrack.
Managed by Network Rail the transport hub has joined forces with train operators Caledonian Sleeper, Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway and will be giving away 12 pairs of tickets throughout the competition.
Located on the station piazza, the colourful map measures in at 6 metres by 3 metres and is a vinyl artwork designed with a theme similar to a massive board game and is intense for those taking part to strike their pose upon.
The competition will be taking place between 10.30am and 5.30pm on Fridays the 15th, 22nd and 29th of October and also the 5th of November.
Two staff members will be on hand to help out competition entrants get the perfect selfie and also upload their entries.
James Dean, Network Rail’s West Coast South route director, said: “After a tough 18 months for us all we really wanted to do something fun for the thousands of people who are coming back to London Euston station and promote the railway as a reliable and green way to travel.
“We’re seeing more people making leisure journeys than before the pandemic so wanted to celebrate this by joining forces with our train companies to give away 12 pairs of tickets to some of the amazing places you can get to from Euston. All you need to do is get down on one of the Fridays between 10.30am and 5.30pm, post your picture to social media using the hashtag #EustonBackOnTrack and some tickets could be yours.”
The competition hopes to showcase the many wonderful locations that can be reached from London Euston. With vibrant cities like Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh or a seaside getaway to North Wales or Blackpool or a scenic break in the Lake District or Scottish Highlands.
