The East Lancashire Railway has announced that LNER A4 No. 60009 ‘Union of South Africa’ will be returning to Bury Bolton Street this November.
On the 6th and 7th November 2021, the iconic steam locomotive will be on static display for people to take photographs.
The A4 was due to be on display on Saturday and Sunday on the recent Autumn Steam Gala, held from Friday 15th – Sunday 17th October.
However, due to “operational issues”, the locomotive was unable to be on display on the Sunday of the event.
There are no other confirmed display days for Union of South Africa so this may be your last chance to see the locomotive before she moves elsewhere for retirement.
